Intra-Racial Infighting In UKM

Just to eradicate racism itself has been proven to be a mammoth task itself. Not enough with that, we in UKM have to deal with one more equally pressing matter with requires urgent attention. This is the intra-racial infighting is which is threatening the unity in a race. In the previous posting, we can see that the unity between all the 3 core races in malaysia is important to ensure continuous stability in our country. But before we even get to that, we must first ensure that everyone in the same race stay united and undivided. But the scnario now is not as expected. A single race is divided into so many smaller clans. This will give the oppurtunity to malicious third parties to use it as an advantage to break us down and cause many misunderstandings between us. If one single race cannot stay united, how do we expect 3 core races from almost completely different backgrounds to live together and harmoniously without any prejudice?

Theres no exception in UKM. If we want everything including the administration of student affairs to move swiftly and smoothly, we must ensure the stability and balance between all the races. But the internal problems and division in a race threatens the stability and balance which is required to create a pruductive and harmonious environment.

In order to illustrate a situation of an intra-racial infighting in UKM, i would like to pin-point the relationship among the Indians in UKM. Again i would like to repeat that, i am not a RACIST for only pin-pointing the Indian race although there will be some people out there who will claim that other races are also not excepted from facing infighting. But i want to make it clear that the reason i chose the Indians in UKM is because their infighting are made very obvious and it has reached a level where physical contact has come in the picture. If i am not mistaken, during the Fiesta Kesenian (FK) which took place last weekend, there was a huge fight between the two main Indian groups in UKM which is the PAH(Persatuan Agama Hindu) and the ANTI(which claims to be the alternative to PAH). That incident is what prompt me to write this post. Some of the students involved were so severely injured that they needed further medical attentions. For this to take place in one of the well known universities in Malaysia, is truly embarassing and a utter disgrace. And the fact that the fight happened between the smallest minority group in UKM, which are the INDIANS which make up less than 1% of the student population in UKM is very sad.

Even though they are in smaller numbers compared to the other races, unity is not common among them. If this is what is going on, then how can we expect the other two major races who exist in larger number to stay united? Since i arrived in UKM some years back, there already existed infighting among the INDIANS. Some seniors who have graduated claimed that this very problem has been around for the past 20 years. The situation between the Indians in UKM were no different than the relationship between USA and Russia during the Cold War period. Each party were trying to out do each other and competing aggresively. One good example to be noted is the the Fiesta Kesenian (FK) hosted by PAH. In order not to to lose out to their competitors, the ANTI group will organize their own show. This so called Cold War went on till recently when fights between the members of these different parties started to take place. I am not going to point my finger blaming either PAH or ANTI for this problem. But i would like to stress here that these societies in UKM were set up so that we can fill our free time in UKM with useful activities and it is hoped that by joining this societies we would get over our homesickness, not to wage war with others.

If you do not agree with a decision taken in a party, there is so many diplomatic channels to solve it. Setting up your own gang and waging war against these societies is not a practical solution. I hope that these two parties will find a peaceful way to end their feud. If this does not happen then the consequences would be heavy as the complaints would flow in and the university would not hesitate to take further action. Sometimes i cannot help myself from wondering whether these students who are involved in these fights came to university in order to gain knowledge and make their parents proud or instead to get involved in fights that might jeopardise their future and spoil their parents name in the process.

If we want everything including the administration of the student affairs to move smoothly and swiftly as mentioned earlier, first we must ensure there is unity in one particular race and they have minimal infighting. This will then contribute to a better level of tolerance interracially.

isu PAH n anti ni dah lama aku dengar..

tp mungkin skrng baru timbul kemuncaknya..

The [roblem between PAH and ANTI have been going on for past 10 years actually. There have been several big fights between this two teams. This problem become more serious 1 years ago. I know the correct fact because my friend is one of the party of this gang. Before this PAH always have problems with UVG guys and some guys which is aid as neutral. The main problem is arised because of the activities that have been carried out by PAH. Mainly it involves RAGGING. in not supporting the other party and put the blame on PAH itself. But this is the main problem which causing the fight among the Indian. Both parties don't want to tolerate and this makes the problem more bigger.Actually i don't understand why they are behaving like an uneducated fellows. They enters university to continue their studies and become the next leader of their family. But this idots wasting their life in something else that is not important. In the latest fight tha anti guys have beaten one of the PAH guy untill he cant wake up. why this guys wont think that what will happen if that guy is dead. Who will responsible to his dead. The condition of THE guy that have been beaten is stable now in God grace. Tis problem must be settle in a mean time if not the problem will become more serious. Both parties must take their steps now to put an end to this problem.
